Problem in Mexico -Nowadays there are problems all over the world -Mexico is no exception to this. -A lot of problems in Mexico.Poverty.Drug cartels.Children oppression.Homelessness

I think poverty is related and probably is the main stream to all the problems I mentioned earlier. Poverty  children without education Poverty  homelessness Poverty  bad choices  drug cartels Children oppression goes on very commonly in poor societies

In the movie slumdog millionaire all of these problems are also portrayed very well. Jamal,Salim and Latika were from a very poor background, the slums of India. They were oppressed by Maman. The three of them were homeless and with no education, each took different paths in life. Salim took the wrong one by going into a life of a gangster.

Latika continued being oppressed by men all her life. Jamals was able after all he had been through to take a good path in his life, in an honest job and luckily get selected for a tv program and win the big prize.

The big question is, what influences peoples decision to take different paths? Jamal and Salim took totally different directions in their life having experienced the exact same things. I really have not idea what might be the difference and probably nobody can answer this question for sure, maybe it is just the way they think differently.

One reason I could think about is a role model. For Mexican people a role model would probably be one of the parents or family member. For Jamal the movie star from India was a role model for him.
