PHOTOSHOP ASSIGNMENT #1 TYPOGRAPHY

The text is the key. Think: “Keep Calm and Carry On” ADVICE / ADAGES / APHORISMS /QUOTES TYPOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT The assignment is simple (or is it?). Take a popular bit of advice, a saying, or a slogan, and use what you’ve learned about typography to make it look cool, interesting, and well-designed. Emphasize the most important letters and words. Use colors creatively, sparingly, and for emphasis. Use your fonts creatively and appropriately. Additional images should be fairly simple—remember that the text is the most important part of the composition. The background might possibly be just textures or a simple logo. This composition is “minimalist.”

GRADING CREATIVITY___ / 10 –Slogan, saying, aphorism, or advice is creative TYPOGRAPHY___ / 10 –design, appearance, arrangement, alignment, style— of font is well thought out and clean. GETTING STARTED In case you don’t have anything in mind for the quotation, here are some resources you could check out to start brainstorming! You could also just Google “quotes about____” TIP: Please make it CMYK under “color mode” when making a new composition.
