Greatest Hits Vol IV HAPAC

Hospital Association Political Action Committee (HAPAC) HAPAC is the Political Action Committee of the South Carolina Hospital Association HAPAC is regulated by the South Carolina Ethics Commission and operates in complete compliance with state and federal election laws HAPAC provides healthcare workers a link, and more importantly, a voice, both at the state and federal levels

S.C. Ethics Law South Carolina Ethics Law limits HAPAC in the amount of funds that can be contributed to candidates in an election cycle. – $3500 for Statewide Candidates – $1000 for local Candidates

The Importance of HAPAC HAPAC promotes responsible government by supporting political candidates for the SC General Assembly and statewide offices who are committed to quality healthcare services. HAPAC provides a vehicle through which hospital employees can more effectively participate in the political process. HAPAC enables SCHA to compete with other advocacy groups for limited state funding. – “Money Talks”

How Does HAPAC Work? The HAPAC Board is made up of hospital leaders from across the state who determine if a candidate will receive financial support based on disbursement criteria. The criteria developed are based on each candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, sensitivity and responsiveness to healthcare issues and positions.
