Shop Safety Students will not participate in practical jokes or horseplay. These types of activities will cause people to become careless resulting in accidents or injury.

Shop safety When lifting heavy objects use your leg muscles and keep your back straight

Shop Safety No repairs will be made to leaky fuel tanks. If gasoline has ever been inside any gas tank, it will contain residual fuel vapors. No repairs can be made without danger of explosion.

Shop Safety It is unsafe to leave car doors open when you are working under the car because you may raise up and hit your head on it or some one may run into the door as they walk by.

Shop Safety The sulfuric acid in a battery will cause severe skin or eye burns or even blindness. Cotton clothing will be weakened by the battery acid. If acid is spilled on you or on the floor, put baking soda on it to flush with water and notify the instructor.

Freon R134a If AC Freon comes in contact with a flame poisons gas can be produced. Freon can freeze skin, eyes etc. on contact.

Shop Safety Be careful when connecting battery chargers and test equipment to an engine. Avoid laying cables and wires on or near moving parts such as fan pulleys or belts which could catch the wires and throw the test equipment out and hurt you.
