Suffixes Mary was hopeless at cooking!

What are suffixes? Here is a clue – Mary was hopeless at cooking! Here is a clue – Mary was hopeless at cooking! A suffix is something we add to the end of the word to change its meaning. A suffix is something we add to the end of the word to change its meaning. Hope + less = hopeless. Hope + less = hopeless. Hope + ful = hopeful. Hope + ful = hopeful. Mary was hopeless at cooking but she was hopeful she could become better! Mary was hopeless at cooking but she was hopeful she could become better!
