The Most Awesome Russian Climate PowerPoint By Chris Llaga , Dante Santangelo , and Mehgan Forde

The Four Climate Types In Russia there are four different climate types and they are sub-arctic , tundra , steppe , and humid-continental. As you can see on the map taiga takes up most of Russia’s land mass while sub-arctic only rules the northern part of it. Although steppe and humid-continental only dominates the southern part that is nearer to the equator and therefore is warmer .

Tundra Tundra is one of the coldest climates second only o arctic. The word tundra comes from the Finnish word Tunturi which means “ treeless plain “ and that’s exactly what it is . The average temperature here is -34 degrees celcius ( -30 degrees farenheit but that’s the winter temperature the summer temperature is -3 to 12 degrees celcius ( 37 to 54 degrees farenheit ). Because of the extreme cold the growing season is limited to only 50 to 60 days.

Sub-Arctic Sub-arctic is , as with tundra , very cold. Temperature is plus 30 degrees celcius for only 1 to 3 months a year . In the winters the temperatures drop to -40 degrees farenheit .

Steppe We are now going into some of the warmer parts of Russia but not so warm but at least your not still in the cold now so be glad . There are two types of steppe , were talkin about the cold kind. The highest recorded temperature is about 40 degrees celcius. The lowest temperature is -40 degrees celcius.

Humid Continental This part of Russia is extremely warm compared to the rest of Russia. The seasonal temperature is typically 25-35°C (45-63°F) . Places with at least four months of average daily temperatures above 10 °C (50 °F) and at least one month below −3 or 0 °C (27 or 32 °F)  are called as humid continental.
