She describes the small town of Maycomb, Alabama and the lifestyle of the people living there. Scout takes us back to the summer that she met Dill, a strange young boy who is the nephew of the Finch's neighbor Rachel Haverford. Upon hearing about the legend of Boo Radley, Dill becomes obsessed with this mysterious man and spends his time around the Radley Place. Dill dares Jem to touch the Radley's house and Jem reluctantly complies. Jem sprints and places his palm on the house and races back home. While staring at the house the see a small movement in the window shutters.
