SELECT AND USE APPROPRIATE METHODS TO MINIMISE SECURITY RISK TO IT SYSTEMS AND DATA 1.1 I can describe the security issues that may threaten system performance. A computer virus is dangerous and can damages your computer. Computer virus are bad because they can possible get rid of your work and you have to pay to fix and get rid of the virus or you get rid of a virus you need to use anti-virus software to get rid of the virus. An example of a computer virus is ILoveYou this virus can send your s and the subject says iloveyou. Some other virus can damage your computer and make it slow and possibly give your computer blue screen of death. Spyware is something that hackers send to record or streams live footage. The problem is that they can get a detail if you don’t have spyware. Spyware is also someone where some stranger can see all your files without you knowing, if they can see what you doing and if you put a password in they can copy it and then take your personal information and possibly take stuff what you do want to be taken. Spam is irrelevant messages sent to your , it is also sent companies and websites to try and advertise there stuff. It can slow down your computers performance because of the amount of s. Personal address gets over 100 s which are spam. How to stop getting spam s are by not signing up to random websites and don’t fill out forms on the internet.

SELECT AND USE APPROPRIATE METHODS TO MINIMISE SECURITY RISK TO IT SYSTEMS AND DATA 1.3 I can describe the threats to system and information security and integrity. Phishing is sending a and tricks you to click it when its like spam, trying to take the important information like bank detail so they can rob your money for the bank. Phishing is getting s saying “dear customer” and then saying “enter your personal details here”, do not fill this out because they will take all your money. You should have a password on everything you own because they could hack you. You should have a strong password like Sock123!. A bad password is password. If you leave your computer logged on then your stuff could be in danger because they could delete your stuff or take the important stuff of your computer. You have to be careful when you go into a public area and you logon to the computer because if you forget to log off then your files are at risk, people could delete them, could steal your work and clam it as their own. If you are unsure that a website is secure is by looking for a padlock in the search bar and if it doesn’t then do not put your personal information.

SELECT AND USE APPROPRIATE METHODS TO MINIMISE SECURITY RISK TO IT SYSTEMS AND DATA 1.5 I can describe ways to protect hardware, software and data and minimise security risk. You should have a password which is easy to remember but is also hard for other people to guess. You shouldn’t tell anyone you password because they can take your stuff if you tell they your password. If you don’t have a password on a personal computer then anyone who you know can go on it because it has no security. If you leave your computer put a lock on it so you have to put your password back in when you come back to it. You should always keep you back up files save if you get hack and they delete your files and if they get your back up then folder then you will have nothing on your computer, so if you have your back up somewhere safe they it couldn’t get stolen or burn or get water damaged. Firewall is important because it will keep your computer safe from lots of networks. Firewall will block or prevent networks. Firewall will stop you from losing your work because this program stops everything straight away.

SELECT AND USE APPROPRIATE METHODS TO MINIMISE SECURITY RISK TO IT SYSTEMS AND DATA 1.7 I can describe why it is important to backup data and how to do so securely. You should always back up because if you lose your files then your back up will back up the file. You should also put your back up in a very safe place because if not you may lose it or it might burn or get water damaged and if it does then you will lose all your back up files. You should also put you back up files on a more than one device. The reason why you should have it on more than one device is because if you loose one device then have a spare with the same work on it. Also when backing up computers do it when everyone is off because if you are working while the back up happening then it would back it up.
