Blizzard Bonus Math review

Ratio and Rates Proportion, an equation that stakes that 2 ratios are equal You cross multiply and if they are both the same they are proportional. You can also simplify the problem and the multiply.

Order of Operations 9[(22 – 17) +5 (1+2) ] Do what's inside of [ ] those first. Then do ( ) what's inside of those next. Third do you exponents. Fourth do multiplication or division which ever comes first. Finally do addition or subtraction which ever comes first too. 9[ 5+5 ( 3) ] -2 9[ 5+15 ] -2 9 (20)

Proportions  Sarah and Rachel were playing soccer. Sarah made 5 out of 10 shots and took 30 shots how many did she make???  Sarah made 15 shots.

Proportions  Cole 1 and Cole 2 were cooking some cookies. The recipe said you need 2 cups of flour and 5 pounds of sugar. That only makes enough for 8 people. There are going to be 24 at the party how much flour and sugar do the need.  6 cups of flour and 15 pounds of sugar.

Unit Rate  Cal and Tori need to know how much each yearbook will cost for each person. They know that 5 yearbooks cost $ How much is 1 year book.  Each year book cost $ 11.20

Scale The scale gives the relationship between measurements on a drawing or model and the measurements of the real object.

Relation  A set of ordered pair.  Domain:Range:  X- coordinate fromY-coordinate from  each paireach pair

Function  A function is a relationship that assigns exactly one output value to each input value.

Expression  An expression is a mathematical phrase that contains numbers, symbols, and or variables. There are no equals in expressions. We simplify expressions.
