Organizational learning - Models 1 In double-loop learning, the entities (individuals, groups or organization) question the values, assumptions and policies that led to the actions in the first place; if they are able to view and modify those, then second-order or double-loop learning has taken place

Organizational learning - Models 1 * Compares and discusses organizational learning models for information security learning within organizations. Double-loop learning, as presented by is compared to outcome-based education, and information security specific standards published by the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), to determine its suitability for the fostering of an information security culture.

Double-loop learning 1 The work of Chris Argyris ( ) describes the concept of 'double-loop learning' (DLL) in which an individual, organization or entity is able, having attempted to achieve a goal on different occasions, to modify the goal in the light of experience or possibly even reject the goal. Single-loop learning (SLL) is the repeated attempt at the same problem, with no variation of method and without ever questioning the goal.

Mental model - Single and double-loop learning 1 After analyzing the basic characteristics, it is necessary to bring the process of changing the mental models, or the process of learning. Learning is a back- loop wikt:process|process, and feedback loops can be illustrated as: single-loop learning or double-loop learning.
