Salford Pathfinder Health & Wellbeing (HWB) Board

Current situation A Health and Well Being Board has been in place in Salford since 2007 It has focused on: improving performance, developing the joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA) and built on strong partnerships in health and social care It has also addressed health improvement, prevention and lifestyle with key target areas including smoking, alcohol, obesity, mental well being, sexual health/teenage pregnancy

The role of the Health & Wellbeing Board To assess the needs of the local population (JSNA). To promote integration and partnership through promoting joined–up commissioning plans To support joint commissioning and pooled budget arrangements, To work with overview and scrutiny committees to review major service redesigns of health and wellbeing services To provide a governance structure for local planning and accountability of health and wellbeing related services.
