Observation Question Hypothesis ExperimentTest Hypothesis Drawing Conclusions Analyze Data

Observations I noticed that the grass in the back of the house doesn’t grow as fast as the grass in the front of the house does.

Question Do plants need light to grow?

Hypothesis I think plants in the light will grow faster than plants that aren’t in the light.

Experiment Materials 4 lima bean seeds 2 plastic cups Potting soil Water Cabinet space Window space

Experiment & Test Hypothesis Place potting soil in each cup about ¾ full. Push 2 bean seeds about an inch into the soil of each cup. Place one cup in a cabinet. Place the other cup in a window. Each plant is given 2 Tablespoons of water each day. Observe the plants over 2 weeks (14 days).

Drawing Conclusions I saw that plants in the light grow faster than plants without light.
