Student Leadership Responsibilities The Student accepts the responsibilities of leadership and follower ship

1. The Student recognizes the need for and participates in the shop organization. 2. The Student works cooperatively with others in completing a given task. 3. The Student recognizes a need for a system of rules and regulations. 4. The Student communicates effectively with others.

5. The Student makes decisions regarding the procedures to be followed in completing a given task. 6. The Student exhibits confidence in his ability to solve a problem. 7. The Student is able to organize the procedures necessary to carry out a task in cooperation with others

8. The Student is able to objectively evaluate a completed task. 9. The student will learn to accept responsibility when a mistake is made, and come up with ways to correct them.

The Student applies knowledge to make career decisions and secure employment.

1. The Student completes a job application form and resume. 2. The Student outlines a program of continuing education: such as apprenticeship, community college, vocational, technical and or military training.

3. The Student relates career choice to training requirements and opportunities. Where do I want to be in one year? Where do I want to be in five years? Where do I want to be in ten years?

The Student demonstrates positive attitudes and work habits that contributes to success in training and employment.

1. Works cooperatively with others 2. Is accountable and responsible for attendance 3. Demonstrates work habits that are necessary to prevent accidents. 4. Cooperates in completing maintenance and house keeping tasks.

5. Accepts and carries out written and verbal assignments. 6. Reports to class regularly and on time. 7. Assumes responsibility for personal actions 8. Completes assigned projects 9. Demonstrates efficient use of time and material.

The Student demonstrates skills and attitudes that contribute to safe working conditions.

1. Identifies safety problems found in the shop. 2. Describes safety procedures to be followed in the event of an accident. 3. Lists the safety concerns involved in the use of: a. Lifting equipment b. Running engines c. Charging batteries d. Caustic solutions e. Power tools

4. Wears appropriate clothing, ear and eye protection. 5. Uses and stores sharp edged tools properly. 6. Anticipates potential problems and acts to correct them. 7. Demonstrates an understanding of good safety practice and positive attitudes through personal conduct. 8. Serves in a leadership role in practicing safety.
