Our Solar System By Miss Isbell

The sun ► The sun is the most important ball of gas in our solar system. Too close and you would burn instantly and to far away you would freeze to death. ► New Mercies Every morning

Mercury Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It’s extremely hot during the day and extremely cold at night. This planet is most like our moon.

Venus  Venus is between Mercury and Earth. It is hotter than Mercury but doesn’t get as cold. It’s clouds are yellow due to sulfuric acid.

Earth Our planet Earth is the only planet that has the ability to sustain life. We are close enough to the Sun for warmth but far enough away not to burn up.

Mars  Mars is known as the Red planet because of the gases it emits that look like rust. It had 2 moons that aren’t perfectly round.

Jupiter This is the biggest planet in our solar system. It has several moons orbiting around it. It also has a red spot that is a constant storm.

Saturn Saturn has more than just one ring as first thought of. It actually has several rings that have several layers and are made up of ice and other things.

Uranus  This is one planet that hasn’t had a lot of exploration. It is different because it looks like it rotates sideways with its rings up and down.

Neptune This planet is named after the Greek god of the water. It is one of the larger planets and has a wide variety of temperatures

Pluto  This is the planet they think is the smallest and the furthest out planet in our solar system. It is so far away from the sun it is also the coldest planet.
