FLOOD Robotics Challenge

Title: Red cross supplies. Task: Students must push the blocks completely inside the circle. Scoring: Score 5 pts each for completely inside. 2 pts if left on board. The 8 blocks are the penalty items. I.e. touch robot the judge will take a block starting with the blocks outside the circle and closest to the safe zone. 40 pts.

Example: 2 points 5 points

Factory Title: Factory with hazardous waste Task: Students must pull the blocks completely outside of the building and back into safe zone. Scoring: Score 10 points for getting the blocks outside of the factory. Score 25 points if blocks get back to safe zone.

Title: Closing the levee. Task: Students must push the blocks into the levee to fill the gap. On the completed mat, lines will mark the region within which the blocks have to set to score. Scoring: 15 pts. x 2 blocks = 30 pts. Blocks

Location of bricks for scoring. Blocks

Title: Rescue victim from rooftop. Task: Students must pull victim from the top of the roof. If the victim is pushed to the other board, the other team gets the points. Scoring: 15 pts. Place the plate between the two boards.

Title: Deploy buoy. Task: Deploy the buoy as close to the center as you can. Scoring: 5 pts for being on the outside ring, 10 for the middle ring and 20 for the center. Buoys start inside the safe zone

Title: Barge Challenge. Task: Move the barge from the flooded area back into the river. Scoring: 20 pts.

Title: Sound the Flood Alarm Task: Trigger the alarm to sound Scoring: 20 pts. How do I hook this up? I can’t remember?

Title: Place the truck into the loading dock. Task: Back the truck up to the wall. Scoring: All of the truck must be past the red Lego line to score 20 pts.

Title: Release dock load. Task: Flip the lever and release the lever allowing the block to fall into the truck Scoring: 10 pts for releasing block. +20 if it goes into truck. Possible 30 pts.

Title: Park and Ride Task: Remove the white car from the parking lot. The judges will move the cars before each run. The cars can be in any of the three locations. Scoring: 60 points for moving the white car all the way back to the safe zone. 40 for moving it out of the parking space. No points if either of the black “cars” are touching the white lines.
