6 1.Stretch tape 1 with origin at point A. Set pins at A, B and C. 2.Rotate tape 1 “C” end to point D. Tape 2 origin at point C. Locate point D, set pin D. 3.Rotate both tapes to locate point E, set pin E. 4.Rotate both tapes to locate point F, set pin F. 5.Verify distance from B to E (width of field). 6.Verify distances D to E and E to F. 7.Paint box ABCDEF (leave pins in place), and halfway line BE. All lines should be 3 – 5 inches wide 8.Move tape 1 origin to point C, place pins at G, H, O, I and J. 9.Move tape 2 origin to point G. Rotate tape 1 to point M. Set pin at point M. 10.Move tape 2 origin to H, rotate tape 1 to point K. Set pin at K. 11.Move tape 2 origin to O, rotate tape 1 to point P, mark penalty spot (not on U8 fields). 12.Move tape 1 origin to D, move tape 2 origin to I. Set pin L. 13.Move tape 2 origin to J, set point N. 14.Paint goal and penalty areas, make small marks for goal posts (measured off of O), pull pins at first end. 15.Mark penalty arcs for U10 and up. 16.Repeat steps 8 – 15 at other goal. 17.Mark center circle, center mark (9 in. dia. circle filled in), spectator and team lines, corner arcs. Laying out a field with two long tape measures, 4 people, lining machine and 15 pins/spikes

7 Historical The slides that follow this one are no longer used for the following reasons: All U8 teams are now in house (so we don’t need an FCYSL regulation U8 field) BCRC Lacrosse has disbanded (no longer have to share the space with them in the Spring, meaning we don’t need the U10 and U14 narrow fields).

8 BCRC Spring and Fall layouts Spring U10 and U14 layouts are a bit narrower to accommodate the lacrosse field (if they request space). Long dimension of the Spring U14 field touch line is parallel and closest to the berm in the back corner. Spring U10 field is parallel to the U14 field and its goal line is in line with the U14 goal line farthest from the townhouses (trying to miss as much of the softball infield as possible). Teams are on the “outsides of the 2 fields and both sets of spectators are in between the 2 fields. Reduce spectator offsets to 13 feet. U12 Spring field is perpendicular to the U10 field (long dimension parallel to the townhouses) between the backstops and the asphalt path. Teams should be on the ditch side. U8 Spring field (if needed at all) is perpendicular and close to the tennis courts. Teams on tree side, spectators closest to the parking lots. Fall U10 layout is where the Spring U12 field is laid out Fall U12 field is in the back corner (but touch line is parallel to the town house near the back berm). Fall U14 field is perpendicular to the U12 field (long dimension parallel to the back brush line) Fall U8 field (if needed at all) is parallel to the Fall U12 field. Put U12 on the nicer grass. 7/28/2007 update – BCRC U8 goals are 12’ wide. U10 goals are 18’ 6” wide. U12 goals are 21’ 3” wide. All are the inside the post measurements. Centerline measurements are 2” wider. The field layouts have been adjusted so that the goal area sides are 6 yards off of the posts, and the penalty area sides are 13 or 14 yards off of the posts (FCYSA rules of competition; with a bit of rounding to get to the nearest foot). 11/10/2007 – Academy fields added at end. U8 Academy field has custom dimensions.
