Location  Jamaica is located in the Caribbean, South from central America.  Jamaica is third largest island in the Greater Antilles.  If you look at Jamaica on the map it is underneath the largest island, Cuba.

The capital of Jamaica is Kingston

Climate and Weather! Jamaica is consistently warm with lots of tropical weather. Usually 22 degrees through to 31 degrees. Jamaica is an earthquake and hurricane zone. It has tropical climate with high temperatures and humid weather. Jamaica has tall mountains and they divide Jamaica in half.

Slavery  The explorer Christopher Columbus arrived in Jamaica in People from Spain came and followed him and introduced bananas and sugar canes to the island.  These sellers made the Arawaks work for their farms and treated them very cruelly.  Many died for starvation and overwork.
