Mr. Perez’s Keys to Success in Science Students should: Review the class notes and homework sheets daily (even if homework is not assigned or finished in class). ALL of the answers on homework assignments can be found in the notes. Take detailed notes when collecting data during labs. Refer back to the notes when answering lab questions. Participate! Attend extra-help (and bring binders to review the class notes or homework assignments). Look over and review the End-of-Unit reminder sheets, which will be given out about one week before each unit test. Study the notes (as opposed to just reading through them). How? Index cards are a great for vocabulary building, but have your child explain the open-ended questions to you (which will be listed on the End-of-Unit reminder sheets). 6. Complete the Castle Learning assignments days before they are due, NOT on the eve of the due date.

6th Grade Blue Team - Field Trips Caumsett State Park Trip Culmination of the Ecology Unit Thursday, October 15th, 2015 Ocean Life – Fishing Trip (Freeport) Miss Freeport and Dolphin Life Science Review Thursday, May 12th, 2016 9

Multi-Unit Test and Final Exam The multi-unit test will count as TWO test grades for the second marking period The final exam will count as TWO test grades for the fourth marking period At the end of each unit students will be asked to clear out their notes and homework assignments. Save these sheets in a folder at home. Find a place where they will not get thrown away (like a closet). We will spend time in school reviewing for the multi-unit test. The students will be given review packets. We will spend one day reviewing each topic at the end of the year. The students will have 10-12 review packets to study for the final exam. 10
