Looking Ahead to Careers Why do people work? Main reason = to earn a living Most people choose jobs based on their interests and skills What are your hobbies/interests? Most people spend a large part of their lives working! 40 or more years on average

Looking Ahead to Careers Wouldn’t you rather spend that time doing something you enjoy?? Describe your “dream career”!

Matching Yourself to a J-O-B It’s a CHALLENGE! What subjects do you enjoy most in school? What subjects are you best at? What are your main interests? What are your talents? What are your values and goals? What do you want to do with your life? What is important to you? Do you want to help other people? Do you like to build things?
