Goals and Strategies for Outreach TAI Training Workshop

The Access Initiative Objective Promote the accelerated and enhanced implementation of Principle 10 at the national level.

TAI National Objectives National Objectives Include: –Increasing your own knowledge and capacity –Influencing or initiating policy change –Improving implementation of national legislation, regional and global agreements and commitments –Engaging other NGOs and increasing pressure for implementation –Creating a more active public

TAI Global Strategy Build a constituency Working with other NGOs Working with government Develop tools for national indicators Establishing common standards Promoting global collaboration Monitor implementation of Principle 10 Generating indicators Providing information Identify implementation gaps and urge action Supporting change and improvement

TAI National Strategy What are your strategies? –To engage government –To raise awareness –To change the thinking and behavior of policymakers or officials –To work together with other NGOs –To provide information to the general public –To support better performance by selected audiences

Outreach Audience Who is your audience? –The general public –Government policymakers (legislators, parliamentarians) –Government officials (ministry employees, civil servants) –Other NGOs –Academics –Professionals: lawyers, judges, teachers
