Plate Tectonics Project

Requirements Working in Assigned Groups Create a Poster Board & present findings about plate tectonics to the rest of the class. As a group you are responsible for doing the following outside of class: 1. Purchase 1 poster board 2. Research Plate Boundaries 3. Bring in research materials to construct poster board in class.

Plate Tectonics Project Must Include the Following: Explain how/and why Earthquakes occur Define Plate Tectonics Choose one plate boundary Describe Your Plate Boundary Movement 1. How does it move? Full Description 2. Relationship between Plate Movement & Volcanoes 3. What forms at your plate boundary movement? 4. Diagram Illustrating Movement 5. Specific Examples (Where does this occur on Earth? What has it created? What is it responsible for? Etc) 6. Any interesting facts about your plate boundary movement. 7. Based on your research predict the next earthquake

Plate Boundary Movement Boundaries 1. Transform/Sliding 2. Diverging Boundary 3. Converging Boundary – Continental – Continental 4. Converging Boundary – Continental – Oceanic 5. Converging Boundary – Oceanic – Oceanic
