Presentation transcript:

 The urinary bladder is a hollow muscular organ forming the urinary reservoirs  It rests on the front part of the pelvic floor, behind the symphisis pubis and below the peritoneum.

 The bladder gets rid of all the fluids and other substances out of the blood stream.  Some of the fluids get reabsorbed by the body but most gets out as urine.  If your body wasn’t smart enough to get rid of this you would get SICK!!! And you don’t want that do you.

 Your body makes chemical waste products it can’t use.  They go into your blood stream, then pass into your kidneys where the excess fluid and chemical stuff gets filtered out.

 As your kidneys do this work, they also make sure your blood is not to thick or not to thin, not to salty or overloaded with excess vitamins, minerals or wastes made by other parts of your body.

 The kidneys work as they do because the contains millions of infinitesimal filters.  Hundreds of times a day your blood gets filtered through these filters and the liquids and wastes are removed.

 The wastes trickle down and collect in the center of your kidneys.  Your kidneys are always working and the pee is always drip--drip—dripping down through tubes called ureters into a small pouch.

1. What is the system we were just talking about? 2. What is the scientific name for the bladder? 3. What would happen if your body did not get rid of the chemical in your body?

1. The bladder. 2. The urinary system. 3. You would get really sick.
