Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound STRATEGIC PLAN 2005 ONE CAMPAIGN

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound’s Mission “To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens”. Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound will continue to maintain its MISSION, IDENTITY and FOCUS by servicing youth age 6 to 18. Boys and Girls Club Strategic Focus While our guiding principles and focus have not changed from the Strategic Long Range Plan one of our key strategic elements has; incorporating the HOPE Centers as an integral part of how we meet our strategic goals. HOPE Centers: Home to Opportunity, Possibility, and Empowerment (HOPE). HOPE Centers provide an opportunity to increase the number of youth served by partnering with communities and combining resources, programs, and talents of agencies at one location in one facility. ONE CAMPAIGN

HOPE Centers address two key issues: 1.Boys and Girls Clubs sit empty during the day and on weekends when the building could be used for other community activities and programs. 2.Significant gaps in availability of services needed by families (particularly low income families) and children in south sound communities. To address these issues; our strategic approach is changing from building stand alone Boys and Girls Clubs in each community with need, to partnering with local communities to develop and build HOPE Centers. The result for the Boys and Girls Club is the ability to serve increased youth, expand program offerings, and align resources to support growth at a lower cost to those most in need. ONE CAMPAIGN

GUIDING PRINCIPLES These guiding principles are the test of our strategic goals and form the foundation of the South Sound Boys and Girls Club Strategic Plan. Focus The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound should continue its focus on serving girls and boys between the ages of 6-18 with emphasis on outreach to teens, gender inclusion, ethnic and cultural diversity, and family involvement. Commitment The Boys & Girls Clubs provides a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals; life-enhancing programs; character development experiences; hope; and opportunity. Growth Continue to grow and expand at a rate that can be properly managed as well as financially supported on an annual basis. Physical Asset Management The Boys & Girls Clubs have clean, efficient and attractive facilities. ONE CAMPAIGN
