What is your favorite store?

People who buy items in stores are called consumers. She is a consumer. A consumer is someone who buys products.

Companies make items to sell in stores.

They mark those items with a brand.

Do you recognize any of these popular brands?

Sometimes, we call the items units. One unit of soda. Two units of soda.

Items cost money.

How do people decide how much an item should cost?

Sometimes prices are determined by the number of units. Apples $1.00 each - costs $ costs $ costs $3.00

Other times, prices are determined by weight. Apples $1.00 per pound - costs $ costs $ costs $ lb.
