Subversion is a free/open-source version control system. It manages files and directories, and the changes made to them, over time. This allows you to recover older versions of your data, or examine the history of how your data changed.

Run the TortoiseSVN installer. Installer is shared at following location: \\srv1\data\Common\Irfan\TortoiseSVN win32-svn msi Create a project Directory somewhere on your hard drive. Right click in that Directory and select “SVN Checkout…”

Place new file or directory in to checked out dirctory. Right click the file and select “TortoiseSVN, Add” To send all your changes to the server, right click and select “SVN Commit”: Its just like check in of VSS. ‘SVN Update’ is just like check out of VSS.

Select “TortoiseSVN” ->Delete Select “TotoriseSVN” ->Rename

I F YOU WISH TO SEE THE NUMBER OF CHANGES A FILE WENT THROUGH, THE USERS WHO MADE THESE CHANGES AND THE REVISIONS IN WHICH THE CHANGES WERE MADE, YOU CAN USE THE 'B LAME ' OPTION R IGHT CLICK ON THE FILE AND S ELECT THE T ORTOISE SVN - >B LAME OPTION

Select “TortoiseSVN” -> Brach/Tag

this icon overlay reminds you that you should release the lock if you are not using it, to allow others to commit their changes to the file. This icon shows you that some files or folders inside the current folder have been scheduled to be deleted from version control or a file under version control is missing in a folder.

The plus sign tells you that a file or folder has been scheduled to be added to version control. Read-only Files. This is used to Deny Multiple checkouts to a file.
