The New Frameworks for Literacy and Mathematics The role of ICT

How are they different? New frameworks are now online supported with many resources Designed to be interactive and searchable so that objectives and resources can be matched easily Trainings were organised last term for school senior management teams and subject leaders

Training for all staff Structured staff meetings and trainings now follow to introduce how the frameworks will be addressed in your school (PDMs – Professional Development Meetings). Each school is required to address the frameworks according to their particular priorities and vision for improvement. SEF

The meetings will contribute to the ongoing professional development programme for the next 12 to 24 months. Meetings should be tightly focussed to address specific themes or strands to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The role of ICT within the frameworks is summed up in the pack “Keys to learning in literacy and mathematics” The pack forms part of the support materials for the frameworks, ‘to encourage and enable effective teaching and learning using ICT’ ICT will play a major role in the new frameworks

Aims of the pack To support practitioners in making links between their own use of ICT to support teaching and the children’s use of ICT to support their learning Introductory video Introductory video
