Culture Culture=the way people live. How are cultures similar and how do they differ?

Customs and Traditions way  Custom= The way events in our life are celebrated.  Tradition = happens often –Birthdays –Special times of the year.

Religion  How people from around the world practice their faith.

Clothing  What we wear because of our religion, region, climate and money.

Values and Beliefs  Our values are the beliefs that guide us through life. These strong beliefs hardly ever change. [loyalty, trustworthy, honesty]  Our ordinary beliefs change as we change as a person. –Thunder was a mad monster in the sky.

Shelter  Where and how we live.  This depends on our climate, money and the environment around us.

Languages  How we communicate our thoughts and ideas.  EX: Sign language, drawings, non-verbal

Food  The food we eat depend on our beliefs, where we live, and our ethnic background.

Arts and Recreation  Arts  Arts: what we are good at as a person; a skill.  EX: painting, drawing, singing, dancing, etc.  Recreation:  Recreation: How we like to spend our time.

Tools We Use  The specific “items” that we use in our daily life.

Things We Make  What we as people make so that our lives are that much easier.

Government  How our people are ruled. Democracy- *In America we are a Democracy- a government for the people by the people. People VOTE.
