 Romanias main agriculture mainly consists of wheat, corn, barley, sugar beets, sunflower seed, potatoes, grapes and sheep.  Its main industries are textiles, footwear, light machinery, mining, timber, petroleum refining, chemicals and food processing

 Romanian – 89.5%  Hungarian - 6.6%  Roma gypsy - 2.5%  Ukranian - 0.3%  German - 0.3%  Russian - 0.2%  Turkish - 0.2%  Other - 0.4%

 Eastern orthodox – 86.8%  Protestant – 7.5%  Roman Catholic – 4.7%  Other(mostly muslim) – 0.9%  None – 0.1%

 In 1976 Nadia Comaneci was the first person to ever score a perfect 10 in gymnastics in the Olympics.

 From about 100AD to 271AD most of Romania was the roman province of Dacia.  Barbarian tribes conquered and overran the native Daco roman population  After the Ruso-turkish war of Romania became russian protectorates  At the begining of world war 1 Romania proclaimed its neutrality but it later joined the allied side and declared war on the central powers.

 The armistice of november 11 th 1918 gave romania vast territories from Russia and the Austro-hungarian empire,doubling its size.  During world war 2 Romania was reorganised along fascist lines.  Around 270,000 jews altogether were massacred in fascist Romania
