5 Culture continued... It is common to see a divided culture among the “Amerindians” and the Spanish The Amerindians are more traditional and reside in the Amazon area. Most Europeans live in Lima, and live more modern lives. Today, most of the population would be classified as “mestizos”, which are part “Amerindian” and part European

9 History Peru was inhabited by the Incas, but was captured in 1533 by Spanish conquistadors. Peru declared its independence in 1821, but did not officially receive it until 1824. Peru became Democratic in 1980 after years of military and authoritarian rule.

10 Current Conflict? There is a conflict between the “Amerindians” and the Indigenous people about the drilling for oil in the Amazonian Rainforest.

14 Culture continued... Cultural values found in Germany are ones also common in America They are independent people They value freedom, family, responsibility, and share a strong work ethic Subcultures do not differ in much else than the ethnicity it is derived from.

17 History Germany played a major role in both World Wars in the 20 th century. In WWI the Treaty of Versailles’s “War Guilt Clause” left Germany feeling bitter. WWII Germany hosted a rise of Hitler and Nazism, as a major power in the war.

18 Current Conflict? No major conflict currently happening at the moment. There are problems with Germany selling illicit drugs. Specifically to South America and Latin America.

20 Where I live Personally, I would not want to live in either of these two places. This is because I prefer where I live over any other country. There are places that I would like to visit, but none that I would like to call my home
