Nepal is landlocked between China and India The southwestern land is known as the “Terai” and is excellent farmland There are many swamp and jungle regions Mt.Everest is located between Nepal and Tibet It is the worlds tallest mountain at 29,030 feet Climate- south is hot summer, cool winter, North is cool summers, harshly cold winters 85% OF Nepal is Mountainous 33% of Nepal is over 10,000 feet 50% of Nepal is called the Manchucrat range, or Middle hills Rivers East- Kosi River Center- Kaligandaki River West- Karneli River Himalayas means “snowy abode”

Nepal has their own national soccer team currently ranked 160th in the FIFA world ranking. Soccer is one of the most popular sports in Nepal. Most soccer in Nepal is played in neighborhood soccer clubs

The stadium played in by most teams in Nepal including the Nepal National team is the Dasarath Rangasala Stadium which is located in Kathmandu. The stadium has about 5,000 seats and holds 20,000 people. The Dasarath Rangasala is Nepal's only standard stadium.

Radios are becoming more common but most music in Nepal is made by yourself Music Regions- West- DrumsCentral- Shanai-on Oboe In the cities western style instruments are played in a half Dixie - half polka style. Many temples in Nepal are accompanied by hymns, drums, cymbals, and flutes. In Buddhist temples monasteries men stand on the roofs and blows foot long horns and it is heard for miles around.

Nepal is one of the poorest most undeveloped countries in the world Nepal is in the top 5 for “poorest in the world” 90% of Nepal's workforce is farming In hilly or mountainous areas of Nepal, they rely on the food from the Terai for survival. Principle crops of Nepal are Rice, Wheat, Corn, Millet, Buckwheat, Barley, Potatoes, Sugar Cane, Lentil, and Jute

Nepal's main export is woolen carpet There is no heavy industry in Nepal. Jute, Sugar, Cigars, cotton textile, Cement, and Leather and the main goods. The only place with adequate conditions for industry is the Terai, where they have roads and supplies. Tourism helps to increase Nepal's income, yet too many trees are being cut as a result of tourism.

Government Nepal is set up into 14 zones, and each zone is divided up into a district, their are 75 districts total. Each district is then divided into 9 blocks. The Central Government of Kathmandu keeps a strict central legislation and Budget Nepal has always been governed by a king In 1991 Nepal had its first multi party election in 32 years Leader: Gyanendra Bir Bikiram Shah Deva
