AUDACITY Year Five

ICT TASK  Four lessons  First lesson will have students researching using tablets and computers information about the sun’s interaction with either plants, animals or humans (each group will have a different topic)  Second lesson will have students creating a power point presentation to present the information they have researched  Third lesson will have the students create or edit images to go with their lesson using the program paint.NET  The fourth lesson will have students use the program Audacity to record and edit voice overs and music to accompany their power point presentation

CURRICULUM LINKS  Lesson sequence focuses on year 5 science  (ACSSU078): The earth is part of a system of planets orbiting around a star (the sun)  See ‘teacher page’ on weebly to see links to general capabilities (ICT)

OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON  Identify important information from research conducted and present these pieces of information using an audio recording software (Audacity)  Edit recorded information using audacity so that there are no unwanted sections of recording and no long pauses.  Export audio files as MP3 format so that they can be imported into their power point presentations.
