Advent Week 1 Hope To help us prepare for Christmas we are going to reflect on the Christmas story and the people involved v=AySe5pZnwig&feature=plcp

How much do you know about the Christmas story? 1)Note down the key points on the board or on post it notes. 2)Can you name people from the story? Again, note them all down.

Who is your favourite character.? Using your pens and post-it notes think about what you can learn from the characters as follows: Write down the name of a character and a quality of theirs that you like. For example, you might write ‘Joseph: Loyalty’ or ‘Mary: Trust’. Stick the post-it notes up on the board when you’re done.

Is there anyone in the world today who reminds you of any of the people in the Christmas story we have been talking about? Do any of these people encourage you to change anything in your own lives?

Loving Father, as we reflect on the beautiful story of Christmas, we ask for the grace and the courage to let that story touch our hearts and change our lives. May we be open to God’s will like Mary. May we care for those we love like Joseph, and may we bring love and forgiveness into the world like Jesus. We make this prayer through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.
