hardy: someone or something that can survive in difficult conditions Part of Speech: adjective Which words are similar in meaning to hardy? tough fragile strong flimsy sturdy Tell about a person, animal, or plant that you think is hardy. What experience did it go through that makes you think it’s hardy?

gleam: shines and gives off or reflects a glow of light Part of Speech: verb Which of these might gleam? mud diamonds the sun a newly waxed car dirty dishes What is something you own – or that you would like to own – that gleams? How do you keep it gleaming?

harmony: to work in total cooperation with others Part of Speech: noun Which words mean something similar to harmony? argument agreement friendship togetherness disagreement Tell about something that you do in harmony with your classmates, your family, or a friend. Do you think people are able to get more done when they work in harmony?

ideal: something that is perfect Part of Speech: adjective Which statements describe something that is really ideal? Summer is the ideal time to go snowboarding. A fish is an ideal pet because it takes very little care. The ideal place for that plant is in the garden. I think it would be ideal if I lost the race. A sunny day is ideal for a baseball game. Tell about your ideal vacation. Where would you go, who would you take, and what would you do there? What would be an ideal souvenir to bring home?
