Story about ‘Climbs & Slides’ Students are entering Monroe Elementary School (MES) in the 3 rd grade. They hope to graduate in 5 th grade. During school they have to accomplish many things in order to be successful. Some things include taking the CRCT tests, following the school rules, getting rewards etc. Some unfortunate situations may occur; being late for the bus, loosing a library book, etc.. It is all a part of school life and the students will be able to enjoy the good times and overcome the difficult times in order to be a graduate of MES. Home Page

Game Directions The goal of the game is to graduate from Monroe Elementary School (MES). To play the game, you have to answer 3 CRCT test items correctly, then you are allowed to roll the dice 3 times on the board game to see if you can move closer to graduating from MES. You repeat the whole process. Your game pieces should be placed either on a computer screen for the computer version or on the game board on your desk. To win the game you have to graduate from MES. Game Preparation If you are playing by yourself, you will need 1 dice and 1 game piece. If you are playing with a partner, you will need 1 dice and 2 game pieces If the teacher and the whole class is playing, you will split the class into 2 teams and you will use 1 dice and 2 game pieces If two schools are playing during a video conferencing session, each school will need 1 dice and 1 game piece Home Page

Educational Objectives Audience: The audience will be 3 rd, 4 th or 5 th grade students Objectives: Students will be able to work as a group on CRCT test items in a game setting. Students will be able to experience and appreciate the rewarding and sometimes difficult times, as they move toward graduating from their school. Students will see a connection between being prepared for tests and graduating from school. Students will engage in healthy competition in the academics, while experiencing real-life situations Home Page
