2 The Story of the “Game Title”
This is what makes your game interesting. Think about games you played when you were young. What was your favorite game? What is your child’s favorite game? What about the “story” of the game makes children want to play it? Your story should tie everything together -- the purpose of your game, what they are going to learn, and why they should want to play the game. Look at the sample games to see their stories. To play the game you have to… To win the game you have to… You don’t have to include these specific headings -- but this is usually what is included in game directions. You might have a friend or family member (especially a child) play the game with you after you’ve started to put it together -- it’s a great way to test out your directions. Gameboard: Print out slides 9-12, cut off the edges, then tape together “Danger” Cards: Print out slides (preferably on heavy stock with a distinct color), then cut into individual question cards “Good luck” Cards: Print out slides (preferably on heavy stock with a distinct color), then cut into individual question cards If your game does not have cards or does not use a board - you won’t need this slide.
