UNIT V Lesson 2 Chapter 14 Slow way Home

For Teachers This is a continuation of lesson 1. After teacher reads aloud chapter 14 of Slow Way Home, students in groups 1 and 3 from yesterday will spend class time creating a newspaper based on the stories written in yesterday’s class. Students in groups 2 and 4 will spend class time preparing and videotaping a TV news show based on the stories gathered yesterday. Teacher will need to be prepared with poster board and a video camera. The projects should be graded as formative grades.

Read Aloud Chapter 14 of Slow Way Home

Yesterday’s stories Your teacher will hand back your stories Take your stories, and prepare to publish them in a newspaper Take your tv news stories, and prepare to record them as news stories.

Newspapers Teacher: Appoint a lay-out editor, a headlines/story title editor and three copy editors. Lay the stories out on a poster board or on another large sheet of paper.
