On special occasions people wear traditional Korea n outfits called Han-boks. For men a han-bok is a loose fitting tunic with trousers. Women wear a colorful, often multi layered dress.

When inside a Korean house, it is customary to take off your shoes. When we visited the Kindergarten school, we took off our shoes and wore special slippers.

Greetings –Korean Words 안녕하세요 Annyeonghaseyo –Say "anyoung" among friends. This is the most casual way of saying "hey" or "hi." Use this greeting with friends and relatives who are your age or younger. It is considere d a very casual, informal way of greeting someone, so you can only use it with people y ou are on familiar terms with. Avoid using this expression with people who are in a position of authority over you, such as an instructor, supervisor, or elder. Korean drums play an important part in tra ditional Korean music, ranging from folk music to royal court music. The drums are in a variety of shapes and sizes and they are for accompanying other instruments and in special drum performances. One type of special Korean drum is the Korean Barrel drum.

Buchaechum is a traditional form of Korean dance also called a fan d ance. The dancers represent shaped images using the fansKorean dance e.g. birds, flowers, butterflies and waves. They wear brightly colored hanboks, the Korean traditionalhanboks dress.

Korean no-rae-bong- A noraebong translates to “singing room,” and that’s exactly what it is: a single room for you and your friends to wail away in, behind closed doors, where you don’t have to worry about making a fool of yourself in front of total strangers!
