3ds max pipeline Use postprocessed (properly cut) –Movie from Overview Camera –MOVEN file as.bvh –Vicon file as.fbx Create two bipeds in 3ds max and load the.bvh files as motion capture onto them Rescale the time to match the number of the frames in the video Open a new 3ds max file and use the Movie as the viewport background Import the Vicon data, rescale the time and roughly rotate it onto the Movie background Use Camera Matching from 3ds max to select several visible points in the Vicon data and then on the background to re-create the proper camera position

3ds max pipeline Model objects into the scene as required (watch, tables, etc.) Import the bipeds into the scene For each biped: –create an animation layer –do a key bind to the first frame –hit the animation button –using the move/rotate tool, and shuttling back and forth, optimize the position of the bipeds to exactly match the Video Optimize the positions and handling of the scene objects in a similar fashion using, for example, animated link constraints as well as linking to Vicon motion Insert light source and render as required! Done!

3ds max pipeline - comments The whole process takes an experienced user ~2hrs It vastly improves the quality of the Vicon – Moven integration to yield more correct combined data –Use the automatically prepared sequences with care!
