“You Are All One In CHRIST JESUS” Galatians 3:26-29

26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Introduction…. State of sonship with God is through or by faith. –Speaks of the basis of our sonship— accomplished through faith. –As children, ALL who are His children, are one. All one! What does it mean? Being one in Christ involves:

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: HAVING THE SAME LORD Rom. 10:12-13 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Eph. 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: HAVING THE SAME LORD Mat. 17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased. Hear Him!”

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: HAVING THE SAME LORD Col. 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING REDEEMED BY SAME BLOOD. Eph. 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Eph. 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING REDEEMED BY SAME BLOOD. I Pet. 1:18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, without blemish and without spot. 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING REDEEMED BY SAME BLOOD. Rom. 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: OBEYING THE SAME GOSPEL. Mk. 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: OBEYING THE SAME GOSPEL. Rom. 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” I Cor. 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you— unless you believed in vain.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: OBEYING THE SAME GOSPEL. I Cor. 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: OBEYING THE SAME GOSPEL. Gal. 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: OBEYING THE SAME GOSPEL. Gal. 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING ADDED TO THE SAME CHURCH Acts 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Eph. 1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING ADDED TO THE SAME CHURCH Eph. 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Eph. 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING ADDED TO THE SAME CHURCH I Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING HEIRS OF SAME PROMISES.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Eph.1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING HEIRS OF SAME PROMISES.

I Pet. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING HEIRS OF SAME PROMISES.

2 Pet. 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceeding great and precious promises that by these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: BEING HEIRS OF SAME PROMISES.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: WEARING THE SAME NAME. Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian.”

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: WEARING THE SAME NAME. I Pet. 4:16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. Eph. 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: DWELLING IN THE SAME HEAVEN. Tit. 1:2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

BEING ONE IN CHRIST INVOLVES: DWELLING IN THE SAME HEAVEN. 2 Cor. 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Rev. 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

Conclusion WE MUST OBEY CHRIST IF WE HOPE TO BE ONE IN CHRIST Heb.5:8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, HAVE YOU OBEYED HIM? ARE YOU OBEYING HIM?
