Only 2 things are important for Prayers to be answered:

I cannot be wrong with people And be right with God

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen - 1 John 4:20

We love because he first loved us - 1 John 4:19

Because prayer is Communication with God Prayer can do Whatever God can do

In all things, God cares more About your heart and your Relationship with him Than the things you receive From him

A certain judge…

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart… Time of judgment/turmoil

"Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?

I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" - Luke 18:1-8

When it comes to justice

When it comes to justice Don't stop believing (and praying) Esp. when the prayer is biblical And the answer is delayed

…they ought always to pray and not lose heart… Just because I've told God Doesn't mean I'm finished praying

Prayer is not a moment But a lifestyle There are things God would give That we don't receive because We don't persist in prayer

God answers continual Persistent prayer Because it trusts that God can And that he knows best Right with God

He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt:

"Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus:

'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get'

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'

The one who needed it Yet thought he had it on his own When home without

The one who knew he didn't Have it and didn't deserve it Yet desperately needed it Went home with it

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted" - Luke 18:9-14

Pride asks for nothing And feels entitled to all things And God says, "No!"

Humility asks for all things Knowing they aren't deserved And God says, "Yes!"

Pride compares against people And feels superior And treats them poorly And God says, "No!"

Humility compares against God And knows it falls short Treating no one poorly And God says, "Yes!"

He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt…

2 Things: Right with God Right with people

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” - Matt. 21:22

Why is that important?

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him - Heb. 11:6

To be right with God Means to trust that he alone Is Lord I get to ask and trust I don't get to dictate & demand

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us Who is Lord is this verse?

And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him - 1 John 5:14-15

Right with God Includes submission to His will in all things

Right with people Includes humble submission And serving/showing honor

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel…

…since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered - 1 Peter 3:7

"If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened" - Psalm 66:18

Holding on to sin Says I don't believe God satisfies Instead, I believe he's Withholding from me Something I want and need

Don't stand on the corners To be seen by men Don't just use tons of words This isn't an essay

Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil [For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory Forever, Amen]

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you

…but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses - Matt. 6:9-15

If I am forgiving Toward others I'm ready to pray For everything else

And if they deserved My forgiveness They wouldn't need it
