1. Is God angry, nit-picking and neurotic toward His children?

2. Some of us have a tough time seeing God as a kind and compassionate Father. We see Him as a neurotic father, pointing out every flaw, every wrong thought and action. We see Him as a exacting obsessive boss, where he worries us and “what if’s us” to exhaustion. We see Him as someone who says, “ah ha”! “What was that thought you just thought”? “Oh no!” How can you be spiritual and think that?

3. Some of us have it so bad, that we have to account for every thought and every action we do. It is like being in a court room and we’re being grilled by an exacting prosecuting attorney. We are having to answer all the questions on our motives, feelings, thoughts and actions. All the while being hooked up to a lie detector with a gun pointing to our head. One wrong__________ AND BOOM! IS THIS HOW GOD WANTS US TO LIVE?

4. Mat 9:10Mat 9:10 Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining {at the table} in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples. Mat 9:11Mat 9:11 When the Pharisees saw {this,} they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?" Mat 9:12Mat 9:12 But when Jesus heard {this,} He said, "{It is} not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. Mat 9:13Mat 9:13 "But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

5. The last time I checked…. Rom 3:19Rom 3:19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; Rom 3:20Rom 3:20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law {comes} the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:23Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

6. Were not the Pharisee’s sinners? Mat 23:23Mat 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. Mat 23:24Mat 23:24 "You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

7. Luk 18:9Luk 18:9 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: Luk 18:10Luk 18:10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. Luk 18:11Luk 18:11 "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. Luk 18:12Luk 18:12 'I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.'

8. Luk 18:13Luk 18:13 "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner! Luk 18:14Luk 18:14 "I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Jhn 8:3Jhn 8:3 The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center {of the court,} Jhn 8:4Jhn 8:4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Jhn 8:5Jhn 8:5 "Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?"

10. Jhn 8:6Jhn 8:6 They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. Jhn 8:7Jhn 8:7 But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him {be the} first to throw a stone at her." Jhn 8:8Jhn 8:8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

Jhn 8:9Jhn 8:9 When they heard it, they {began} to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center {of the court.} Jhn 8:10Jhn 8:10 Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" Jhn 8:11Jhn 8:11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."]

12. Col 3:12Col 3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; Col 3:13Col 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Col 3:14Col 3:14 Beyond all these things {put on} love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

13. Jhn 5:24Jhn 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
