2 General Principles of Youthpass in Youth in Action Youthpass was developed and will be used in an European context. Youthpass is a measure to validate learning outcome. Learning happens in the Youth in Action programme – recognised through Youthpass. Learning in Youth in Action is non-formal learning. Youthpass recognises learning only in the Youth in Action programme. Youthpass

3 General Principles of Youthpass in Youth in Action Youthpass is linked to… … the Lisbon strategy – Growth and Jobs communication … the European Youth pact – Integrated guidelines. … the Lifelong Learning strategy/Education and Training 2010 work programme (EQF, Key Competences…). Resolution of the Council on the recognition of the value of non-formal and informal learning within the European youth field… Youth policy development of the European Commission: White paper process (2001), The Pathway towards validation and recognition (2004) and the Resolution of the Council on the recognition of the value of non-formal and informal learning within the European youth field(2006). 4 General Principles of Youthpass in Youth in Action Strategic aims Instruments should be developed in a way that takes full account of three essential elements involved: the reflection upon the personal non-formal learning process the social recognition of youth work the employability of young people and youth workers Youthpass

5 General Principles of Youthpass in Youth in Action The Youthpass is retroactively valid as for 1st of January It concerns participants taking part in projects selected under the Youth in Action project. The Youthpass can be easily attached to Europass. As it is not yet a direct element of the Europass framework, the Commission and the SALTO will continue the work towards full compability of the two instruments. Youthpass

6 General Principles of Youthpass in Youth in Action Youthpass principles Every participants in Youth in Action activities of Action 1.1, Action 2 and Action 4.3 is individual entitled to receive Youthpass recognising the outcomes of his/her learning experience. The responsibility to implement, generate and issue Youthpass is at organisational level. National Agencies offer support in different ways (link, information, training…). Youthpass Youth Exchanges, EVS, Trainings (not Networking) Beneficiaries of the Youth in Action grant will be responsible The NA take care of the overall implementation of the Youthpass in their own country.

12 The web site – The website is self-explanatory and will guide the beneficiary through easy steps leading to the production of the certificate. Currently the certificate is only available in English. In the future, the website is intended to be multilingual. This will enable the delivering of certificates in different languages for the same project. Youthpass
