A bridge over troubled water George Iordanidis FRIENDS & FRIENDSHIPS A bridge over troubled water George Iordanidis

FRIENDS & FRIENDSHIPS Hi! My name is George Iordanidis and I will talk to you about friends and friendships. With this presentation you will learn the definition of the word “friend”, how to get friends, how to be nice to them, how to recover friendships and finally about the effects of crossing the line of being a good friend.

THE FRIEND First of all, a friend is a person who trusts and loves us and makes us feel nice. He also does not compliment all the time, he points out our mistakes and helps us correct them.

The significance of friendship In all civilizations and societies friends are very important, they are our “bridge over troubled water”. That’s why they must be given almost the same attention as a family. That’s because some people believe that a real friend would do anything to save our life. After all, we don’t choose our relatives, but we choose our friends.

The significance of friendship There are many real stories about a friend saving his friend’s life and sometimes sacrifices himself because he wants his friend to continue living.

How to make friends How can we make friends? First of all, the number one priority of making friends is to respect them and treat them carefully. It doesn’t matter if our friend doesn’t have the same interests as we do. That could help us learn new things. We should care about them and don’t choose them because of their popularity.

How to make friends We should also give them gifts and don’t expect them to give us a gift in return. We should be honest and never cross the line by being boastful, talking behind our friend’s back, lying, cheating and gossiping about him. If we do so, we should ask for forgiveness, but we have to mean it and don’t lie to him again.

How to make friends This is the way for being a good friend and making a lot of true friends.
