Career Played football, basketball, track, baseball during college Played for Hawaii bears baseball then joined Army after getting discharged is when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers He was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award his first season. He also helped the Dodgers to the National League Championship which was the first of his six trips to the World Series.

Career Continued In 1949 he won the League MVP award and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Records He hit 12 home runs in his first year National Leagues most valuable player Held the record for stolen bases His bating average was.342

Portrayed Many people were against him playing because he was African American and this was during the time of Segregation. Also there were people who didn’t like the previous teams he had played for. There were people that liked him and appreciated what he had done and that he wasn’t let anything stop him from doing what he wanted to do.

Significance He broke the color barrier in the National Baseball League. So that also makes him the first African American to be in the National Baseball League. There are a lot of things that make Robison significant. I think what made him significant was that he didn’t let anything stop him from doing something that he loved to do.
