 A lesson plan varies according to subject  Purposes  To help teachers plan and organize the lesson  To help teachers keep a record of the work done  To guide teachers during instruction Lesson Plan

 A lesson plan should contain four main elements:  The objectives of the lesson, and the intended learning outcome  The contents of the lesson  The methods of organizing the content and the activities  The conclusion and follow-up activities Parts of a Lesson Plan

 The objectives and the learning outcomes it sets out to achieve  Students characteristics  Previous knowledge of the students  Tasks and materials  Time allocation Important Factors in a Lesson Plan

 Refer to the scheme of work and pick the appropriate topic  Decide the objectives and learning outcomes of the lesson  Decide on ways to stage the lesson  Decide on the activities  Check for the balance and variety The Normal Procedures of Planning a Lesson

Procedures Activity one (Introduction) 1.Teacher asks students the common questions that they ask when they want to know the details of a person. 2. Students respond to the teacher. Format of a Lesson Plan Activity 2 1.Teacher gives a situation to the students. Teacher explains the activity and distributes the worksheet. 2. Students carry out the activity and the teacher monitors them. 3.Teacher selects students randomly and asks them to present their finding to the class. Time: 30 minutes Material: Worksheet

Format of a Lesson Plan Activity 3 1.Teacher asks students to come up with their conclusion of the activity and the lesson. 2.Teacher concludes the lesson by telling the students the values learnt from the lesson. Time: 25 minutes Material: None
