Overview of Road- map Cascade Flow Regional Plan of Action on HiAP Strategic Lines of Action Objectives Indicators Implementation Plan and Challenges Build Capacity Build capacity in the workforce in the health sector and other sectors on the HiAP approach, and encourage the implementation of HiAP among these groups Number of countries and territories with recognized institutes such as national public health institutes, universities and collaborating centers offering training courses on the implementation and monitoring of HiAP and related concepts Regional Plan of Action on HiAP To be agreed at the Expert Consultation sessions Example form Strategic Line of Action 6

Strategic Line of Action 6 Establish the Need and Priorities for HiAP Objective [6.1] Build capacity in the workforce in the health sector and other sectors on the HiAP approach, and encourage the implementation of HiAP among these groups Indicator 6.1: Number of Countries and territories with recognized institutes such as national public health institutes, universities and collaborating centers offering training courses on the implementation and monitoring of HiAP and related concepts ActionsWhatWhenWho 1 Build and strengthen multi-disciplinary research, strategic, tactical and operational capacities in SDH Target: countries different sectors and settings; then additional 5/year Network of WHO CC and National and Regional Academic Centres 2 Identify existing tools and adapt or develop others for CB in HiAP Target: Dec, 2015 Pilot the implementation of HiAP manual in Mexico Summer School (INSP) reflecting the Regional Plan of Action Regional and National Academic Centres, Centres of Excellence and WHO CC 3 Implement Capacity Building strategies in HiAP with Policy and decision-makers Including monitoring and evaluation of HiAP Target: countries; then additional 2/year Regional and National Academic Centres, Centres of Excellence and WHO CC 4 Implement CB strategies for PAHO Technical staff Including monitoring and evaluation of HiAP Target: All Regional and National Academic Centres, Centres of Excellence and WHO CC 5 Create a Diverse Network of Trainers Target: At lease one per country PAHO to co- ordinate Regional and National Academic Centres, Centres of Excellence and WHO CC

Highlight at least 5 Key Recommendations Implementing Strategic Line of Action 6: 1.PAHO takes a proactive stewardship to secure funds and encourage CB 2. Commitment for translation and WHO CC for adaptation 3. Out of scope 4. Market the message; Disseminate; Position th topic of HiAP through Social Media; Engage champions and allies 5. Create synergies and partnerships Highlight at least 5 Key Challenges Implementing Strategic Line of Action 6: 1. Securing Financial & Human Resouces (advocates, leaders, networks, trainers) for CB 2. Translation/adaptation of HiAP manual 3. Political stability and commitment from all levels of government 4. Attracting other sectors & disciplines to implement HiAP 5. Competing interests
