CARVER AND HIS WORK Carver researched and studied agriculture (farming) and came up with a way to grow peanuts and sweet potatoes in the south. Solution: Growing Peanuts and Sweet Potatoes were easier on the soil and they helped farmers make more money than selling cotton!

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION In a T chart write out the problem and solution.

SWEET POTATOES YEAH! Peanuts and Sweet Potatoes brought in more money than cotton. Peanuts and Sweet Potatoes were easier on the land than cotton so the land stayed fertile for longer. You could eat Peanuts!
