 Noun=  Person, Place, Thing, or Idea  Common=  Non-specific  Proper=  Specific, Capitalized  Collective=  Refers to group  Compound=  Two words referring to one noun  Concrete=  Can feel or see  Abstract=  Cannot feel or see

 Assign groups  Give each group whiteboard, marker, eraser  Explain directions:  Listen to the directions, which will tell you the type of noun you are to identify  Correctly identify and spell the specified noun in each of the given sentences.  Hold up your sign. The first team to get it correct gets a point.

 The big dog ran away fast.  The two girls liked to swing high.  My cat is big and fluffy and white.  Michael, be safe and do not play with matches.  The class is going to work hard today.  Please go get the paper for me.  Look at Mr. Marks’ fireworks!  A newborn baby cries a lot.  My brother is older than I am.  My teacher said that we are working hard.
