My Green House By Jayden White

Lighting The lights I am going to put in my house are compact fluorescent light bulbs. I will use these because:  They last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs  They only use a quarter of the electricity

Lighting continued… I would install motion sensors for the lights so they turn on when you move. This saves energy because it only turns on the light when you are in the room.

Indoor Air I would grow plants indoors because they are natural air filters. I would use ceiling fans and window fans because they make the house cool and use less electricity than an AC.

Heating and Cooling If I have to use an AC, I would use central air that is ENERGY STAR rated. It is more efficient and saves money. All heating should also be ENERGY STAR rated.

Materials My home would have windows and doors with ENERGY STAR rating. They should be sealed properly so air doesn’t leak through. I am going to use bricks to build my home. They last longer and resist cracking, and I like how they look.
