Aim: How does geography shape people’s lives and how do people shape geography? Do Now: What is geography?

 Geography – the study of Earth, how it shapes people’s lives and how it is shaped by people.  How does geography affect your life?  How do you affect geography?

 Region – an area with common features that sets it apart from other areas.

 Physical region  Landform – physical feature such as a mountain  Climate region  Climate – long-time weather pattern in an area  Cultural Region  Culture – the way of life of a group of people, including their daily habits, beliefs, and arts.
